Beechi's Blogaroo

So then, as alot of you know, i have auditioned for my part as "Bottom" and i have go it! Bottom exaggerates every movement to try and make himself as interesting as possible, he is big headed and an ultimate know it all! (first person to comment "lol, just like you :P" is gona get ranted at!) During one of the lesson, we managed to storm our way through acting out over a half of the play with Mrs Bimpson, and i got plenty of time to practise playing as Bottom and taking plenty of tips. I however have a strong feeling that actually performing this play is going to be very embarrasing for me as i not only have to sing and make MASSIVE gestures... i also have to be loved liek the other characters. But i think that with rehearsals i will get over it lol. What do you all think of the characters that you are playing?
I also got given my skill area in Set and Scenery design, and we have to create EVERY single scene within the play, and we want to be the best and most successful group! We have got plenty of idea's which you can see us discussing, designing and creating during lesson and we are happy for any input or other idea;s which you would like to share with us. You could post them here, on your blog, or just tell us in lesson or around school.

On thursday we had our little trip to the theater! We went to catch the train to Bolton Town Centre and goto the Octagon theater, but the train got cancelled.... Oh dear. Hearing the anouncement we dashed of back to school got some money from the finance office, walked to the closest bus stop and waited for a Public Bus going to Bolton town centre. We waited in the cold... but we had a camera to amuse us! Liz and Charlotte spent abit of time annoying Ben Woods... trying to get a picture of his face -.-' After we cought the bus and arrived in town, we made our way to the theater and strolled upto one of the balconies. I hate to admit it, but i feel that the mornings workshop wasnt what i expected. It culd have been alot better and maybe more interactive. A major problem was that we were also on a Balcony.. a high one aswell. But we then had our lunch in our own private room (because Turtoners are just that special!) and we also listened to Lucy play the piano... she was very good and it shows how multi tallented us Turtoners really are! After eating our lunch.. and feeding ben.. and worrying were on earth gabriel is and if he has got himself lost.. we searched for some boss-people in the Octagon! We asked if they would sit us below, and they said yes.. but you will have to be seperated. Luckily enough a row of five became available for me Ben, Ben, Paddy and Gabriel. And even better... it was front row seats!!! :-D This was really fortunate and the Play of "A Midsummer Nights Dream" was AMAZING and FABULOUS!!! The director had put his on spin on the play, and had set it in the 60's using very spherical art, and taking a view on the flowers as drugs. I thought that this was clever and fit in with the play well. I really do not understand the people who were critsizing it, either they were just looking for attention or couldnt understand the language used. Either way i thought that it was a very worth while trip that has inspired me and given me a vast amount of inspiration and idea's for different scenery (Is anybody else thinking giant green sticks with paper lanterns on tops with light bulbs in the middle???) :-D

So then, the other day we walked dow to Canon Slade to have a Guru session. We walked out of the school gates and across the road and across the train track and down a smalol road then down a main road... you get the idea? =) So anyway, we walked down the road to Canon Slade were we had a Guru session about why the Media Diploma is going to be so good for us,what jobs are available now, and what jobs could be available in the future. Overall the talk was very interesting and i think that i got alot out of it. I would say that the whole talk thing has given me a much needed boost and now i am once again looking forward to work! The guru talked about alot, he named jobs in this area and explained alot of new inventions and things that will come in the future. He told us that CERN have teleported an Electron and that doctors have created a microscopic submarine with a tiny nuclear warhead to destroy cancers. But he then said what i think was possibly the most important thing... "Technology is advancing, we are going through a revolution, and employers need creative people in these area's!" I totally agree with this quote and who says that a microscopic nuclear submarine for killing cancers isnt creative! In a Nutshell the Guru session was worth the walk and provided me with alot of cool facts to bore my dad with!

WOW

As i think absolutely everybody in our amazing class thinks... THAT TRIP WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We went to Crosby beach to film the Anthony Gormley statues, where Ben Sofield and I almost got caught out by the fast, incoming tide. When we actually realised that we had been caught out, Ben was knee high in sea water!!!
After the tide came in, and after we had listened to Shaun Bennets opinion on how proud a dogs face looks while it has a poo, we gathered back onto the coach. We (well i) tried my best to knock of all the sand from my shoes, but still managed to bring crosby home.(or atleast to the coach)

Moving on from Crosby, we took a short coach ride to Formby.... IT WAS ULTIMATE ! ! !
After stalking two old men whilst wearing my black cloak (Ben's, Gabriel and Patrick where eating the lunch at this time) we moved to an open, and rather sandy field. We kicked around a seriously flat football, then decided that it was time to move onwards into our seperate groups and actually do some filming. I managed to spot a really dreamlike area of tree's that ben used for his filming, and we also did ALOT of filming him falling own a cliff.(lots of sandunes put together) Poor Ben is probably bruised all over!
I do not want to spoil Bens story to you, but i am going to tell you that i filmed alot of it, and that poor Ben dies.(God bless his soul) But unfortunately i can not tell you guys anymore, you will all just have to wait untill the Live Performance.(omg.... i am not loooking forward to this)

Hi guys!!!

The other day me and my class mates helped set up the anual school exhibition. We ferried goods from school block to school block, in a constant fear of dropping or ripping the marvelouse art, that many people have evidently put alot of time into.

So, after giving a helping hand to set up the exhibition, we where actually aloud to have a look at the masterpieces when they where on display! We all walked in as a big ( and slightly giddy) group, but as we stepped into the room we all went quiet. Then we took our own way, and went to explore.( i my self did find treasure, But 5 pence isnt that much, unfortunately i wasnt aloud to take any of the art home :-( )

Certian pieces of art that came to my attention, included an imitation of a 'slab of stone', after reading through the design notes i realised that the artwork was inspired by Arabic writing.The creator of this artwork had obviously done his home work! He had experimented by incorporating Arabic writing into picturse and pictures into writing. MY favourite artwork in the creators designing was a leaf, the leaf was built around, some Arabic words. (the meaning of the words i would have liked to know, but unfortunately where not apparant in the designs)

Very different from the 'leaf', the final piece was set up in a grid, and repeated to make a repetative effect. The corners where 'roughed' up and pieces of it where missing. It was made to look like an ancient tablet. I must say that, the final piece was 'good' but NOT 'great'. The repetition ruined the piece and it was bright white, and with no shading or color, boring to look at!

Unfortunately the exhibition is only on for a couple of days ( 3 i think) which gives a little response to ALOT of EFFORT. Im not sure wether the teachers got the response that they would have appreciated either, but it could have gone any way, and the exhibition its self does not effect the artwork in side of it.

I know that alot of people missed this AMAZING art show, but it comes around every year, and if the chance arrives, you really SHOULD, go to see it! Hi guys,
I had another lesson today on photoshop.It was slow start waiting for everyone to appear, but we were able to recap over everything that we had learnt and we also learnt how to do other things! I also earned a bar of chocolate for my leaflet (which i will be posting soon to show you all) When i do post it i would please like alot of comments. :-)

The podcasting and blogging and vodcasting and glogging today was absolutely WICKED. I have learnt SOOOO much. I now know how to actually set up my Blog and I had great fun doing the Podcast.(but the music was a teensie bit loud LOL) But anyway, we can only learn from our mistakes. I think that im going to join Flickr so that i can really PIMP MY RIDE ummmm i mean PIMP MY BLOG!!!
I am going to try really hard on this Blog!!!!!!!!
